Nails of the moment, they were to match the outfit I wore on Sunday (sad, I know). Both items were from charity shops; houndstooth Tommy Hilfiger jacket for the amazing price of four pounds and a nondescript vintage top for three-fifty.
The tutorials on houndstooth I’ve found (and followed) seem to make it more work than it’s worth as all of them involve putting a thick layer of black and then white nail varnish with striping brushes and I found you have to wait for them to dry or the white goes grey. With that in mind if I do houndstooth again I’ll be using the tape method to make black squares and then adding the flicks with a brush :)
Did a bit of everything and tried the acid wash tutorial from nail art 101. Really liked this and wil be trying it again :D
My response to those who come knocking on my door to give me “the good news”.
I love, love, LOVE Sylvia Ji and went as a Sylvia Ji-esque Day of the Dead lady two Halloweens ago. Need to do me some sugar skull nails at some point.
Because my dripping CC necklace wasn’t quite gaudy enough, I painted it black and stuck sparkly shit to it. I then proceeded to lose it on a night out (sadface). I’m on the spectrum. AI LOVE GOLLLLD.
Step 1: Buy shitey picture from charity shop for 2 quid.
Step 2: Remove shitey picture & glass, then stick loads of nice pictures on the backing bit (technical term) in a decoupage kinda way.
Step 3: Hammer some nails in and hang up your gaudy jewellery. BOOM. You are now the proud owner of a pretty neat way to keep your jewellery without resorting to those ugly miniature mannequins.
